Teletubbies first came out when I was 11 years old and I have vivid memories of the bright coloured characters, instantly appealing to young children, and massively popular. A new series came out last year, and Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po are all as loveable as ever, and both Georgie and Lydia have been enjoying the rebooted show.
When we think of model trains, there is no doubt that the first brand that comes to mind is Hornby. They are famous for their detailed, high quality representations of the world’s most famous engines & carriages. This Santa’s Express train looks absolutely fantastic and is currently set up around our Christmas tree.
Georgie and Lydia really enjoy Thomas and Friends, and they are very into toys that allow them to build or create, too. This playset from Mega Bloks is a lovely way to combine building and playing with trains – with a motorised Thomas rolling along the track with a truck full of coal.
This light up musical Minnie Mouse toy has been an instant hit with Lydia, who adores Minnie Mouse. It is really rather neat, with different parts of Minnie’s dress & her bow changing colour when touched. The idea is you design Minnie’s outfit by choosing the colours of her bow, top & skirt.
Georgie and Lydia are both big fans of Orchard Toys games, so when we were offered a game to review they were delighted. Cake Monster is aimed at 3 years+, and Lydia (who isn’t 3 until the end of February) has had no trouble with it – in fact both girls absolutely love it & ask to play it a lot!
Georgie and Lydia are both In the Night Garden fans; although Georgie is getting a bit old for it they both still enjoy watching the show – and Lydia absolutely adores Upsy Daisy! We were offered this activity table to try out, and even though Lydia is at the top end of the age range for this type of toy, she has been having a great time testing it out – and so has her big sis!
It seems like you can’t turn around these days without seeing a little girl in a frozen outfit, and this bag is the new must have accessory. The girls have been having a lot of fun with it, changing the colour of the bag to match their outfits – or the rug, or the table, or pretty much everything and everything they can spot that is colourful!
Sensory Miffy is a super cute cuddly toy, which has gone down very well with our two girls. When you squeeze a part of Miffy, she tells you the name of that body part which is great for young children learning their words. Miffy is wearing her classic blue dress, and is very soft to touch.
Georgie and Lydia are both Thomas fans, and love to add new playsets to their Take n Play collection. This new Dragon Drop set has been released to celebrate Thomas’s 70th year, and it’s a really fun one. The girls have been enjoying playing with it since it’s arrival, and love all the little details.
