Character Toys have come out with a new range of Peppa Pig toys with a fairytale theme; Once Upon a Time. We were sent a number of toys from the new Peppa Pig Once Upon a Time range, including the Tea Party Playset (£14.99), the Pumpkin Carriage (£14.99), the Castle Playset (£19.99), and the Story Time Figure Pack (£9.99).
Georgie isn’t usually much of a typical girly girl, but she definitely makes an exception where Disney Princess Palace Pets are concerned – she was delighted when this toy (now named “Kitty” instead of Aurora’s pet Dreamy) arrived, immediately giving her lots of big cuddles and declaring her to be “so cute!”
James has been hankering after some HEXBUG toys since we first discovered them, and so he was pleased when some robotic fish turned up for us to play with! HEXBUG create small robotic toys that move around quickly when activated – their most recognisable product is the original bugs and nano bugs, which scuttle around obstacle courses at high speed.
I first found out about My Friend Freddy Bear at BritMums Live this year, and was immediately intrigued by the product – an interactive soft toy that connects to an iPad (or other tablet – it works with Android devices too). Lydia is a huge soft toy obsessive, and so a teddy that knows her name and asks for cuddles is perfect for her.
We were sent a Pet Parade Playworld set and a Pet Parade Twin Pack Puppies set to try out with the girls and Homily, and it’s been very much enjoyed! The girls have had a great time getting their toy dogs, and their real one, to do lots of tricks.
Pebli town has been a huge hit with our two girls, and they have played with it almost every day since we got it – and several times it has kept them amused for an hour or more. This is a clever gadget that brings together technology and imaginative play in a way that really appeals to the kids.
I have to admit when we were offered one of these cute Bing toys to review, I jumped at the chance – Lydia is a huge Bing Bunny fan and this is her first Bing toy of her very own. This Bing Bunny walks and talks, much to both Georgie and Lydia’s delight. His expressive ears wiggle about too, which is a really nice touch.
We were sent two Disney Princess Palace Pets Mini Collectibles twin packs to review; Blondie and Lily, and Treasure and Bibbidy. Each pack costs £4.99 and you get two small pets in each, measuring around 1.5 inches high.
Each mini pet belongs to a different Disney Princess, and there is an accompanying (free!) iPad app which Georgie really enjoys playing with too.
We were sent two Dora and Friends Doggie Day! dolls to review, and they have been an absolute hit with our two girls. We were sent Dora and Kate and the girls each claimed one each to call their own.
Each of the dolls come with a charm that can be used with the charm bracelets you can buy from the same range of toys (read my review of these here). Both charms are puppies from the Doggie Day episode of Dora and Friends, in different bright colours.
We were sent two Dora and Friends charm bracelet toys to try out to celebrate the Nick Jr Sing Along Summer event; the Beach Adventure Dora set, and the Magic Charm Bracelet set.
The Beach Adventure Dora set has a small toy Dora with moveable arms and a hinged waist, and comes with a yellow charm bracelet and three beach themed charms; a beach bag, conch shell, and crab. Dora is in her beach gear – a pretty swimsuit, (non-removable) sunglasses atop her head, and of course a tiny charm bracelet can be spotted on her wrist.
