Review: Gro-light

I wasn’t expecting to love this product quite as much as I do, but I think this nightlight is actually really great. I don’t give out a lot of 5 star ratings but the Gro-light definitely deserves one – it is going to be so perfect for us. This nightlight sits between your light fitting and light bulb, connecting to the fitting through either a standard bayonet or an E27 screw fitting (you have to buy the specific type of Gro-light for your fitting). You then fit your normal light bulb into the other side of the Gro-light. Really simple, and easy to fit.

Review: Kokuyo Harinacs Medium 6 Sheet Staple-less Stapler

When this product arrived for review, as part of my role as a National Stationery Week blogger, I was a mixture of sceptical and excited. It sounded fab, a stapleless stapler – but could it be too good to be true?

I used to use a stapler every single day at my old admin job and have many not-so-fond memories of running out of staples, or having to pick them out in order to shred some files. The idea of a gadget that both never runs out & doesn’t cause problems with shredding sounded great to me – things only a lowly paper pusher can truly appreciate I think!

Review: Epson Pulsense PS-100

I was sent the Epson Pulsense PS–100 about a month ago to review, and I tested it out for a few weeks. I have to say, I am less than impressed, which was a little disappointing to me. I have to admit that until I was sent this piece of wearable tech, I had no idea that Epson had entered this rapidly growing market, and they are a brand that I associate with printers, not fitness tech.

Review: Inateck 2 in 1 Micro USB Cable with Apple Lightning Adapter 1,2m (EC2001L)

Almost all of my mobile devices are charged via two types of USB cable; Apple’s propriety lightning connection or the industry standard Micro USB connection, and it seems to be the same for most mobile devices on the market.

This 1.2 metre long cable has a standard USB 2.0 connector on one end, to be plugged into a power plug or computer, and on the other end is a Micro USB connector. This can be changed to a lightning cable using the included adapter. Both ends of the cable also come with protective covers for keeping them safe when you have the cable stashed in a bag.

Review: YouView TV set-top box

We were sent the “Humax DTR-T1010 YouView Smart 500GB Freeview+ HD Digital TV Recorder” to try out and review. First impressions were good; the box is an attractive, sleek looking piece of kit, and the interface is easy to navigate and very intuitive.

Review: Sony Xperia Z

We were sent a Sony Xperia Z to try out for a few weeks, and in the interest of a proper trial, I swapped the micro-sim from my iPhone and popped it into the Sony, before tucking my iPhone away in the drawer, where it stayed for 95% of the time.

My first impressions of the phone were that it seemed really nice; sleek, shiny, and of good quality. It comes with a micro-USB cable and a neat little plug for charging, with the third prong slotting into place when in use, and tucking out of the way when you want to slip it into your bag.
