A morning at Quest, Merry Hill
On Sunday morning we headed over to Merry Hill to explore Quest – a recreation centre aimed at all ages, built into the shopping centre.

Yesterday we attended Gadget Show Live and it was a very good, if exhausting day! We are off on our holidays for a week today but I wanted to post a quick blog about our day – more info, photos & a video will come when we get back!
A family meal at Harvester
On Saturday we headed to our local Harvester, The Forest near Bromsgrove. We were invited along to try out their spring menu & check out their kids meals in particular. We had a lovely meal, and really enjoyed our evening at the restaurant.

Thomas & Friends Weekends at Drayton Manor, home of Thomas Land
On Saturday Lydia turned three – and she got to spend the day at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor, what a fab birthday treat! We were invited to come along and review the popular family attraction, that’s perfect for Thomas & Friends fans for all ages.
Ancient Oceans at Sea Life Birmingham
This morning we were up early and headed into Birmingham City Centre for the Ancient Oceans event that is running at the Sea Life Centre this half term.
Ancient Oceans allows kids to become “Dinosaur Detectives” and complete different challenges around the centre. There are bones to hunt down – when you spot one, stick the corresponding bone sticker onto the dino skeleton. Visitors get a pretend paper magnifying glass, some stickers, and a little activity booklet with pictures to colour, a word search, and a space to draw your own sea creature – all with the Ancient Oceans theme.
Merry Fishmas! Visiting Santa at Sea Life
We went along to the Sea Life centre a week or so ago to visit Santa, watch the Polar Express film in the 4D cinema, and of course the penguins & other sea creatures that reside there. The girls love to visit every month or two and see how much has changed since our last visit.
Visiting Santa at the Bullring, Birmingham
Last weekend we headed in to the City centre to visit Santa in his grotto at the Bullring Shopping Centre. The grotto is actually located outside the main shopping centre; in St Martin’s Square. From the outside, I have to admit it’s not that enthralling – a couple of white tents, a few white deer statues, and some little Christmas trees in pots, finished off with a North Pole signpost & a “Santa’s Grotto” banner attached to the fence.
Exploring the Enchanted Christmas Kingdom at Hatton Adventure World
At the weekend we visited Hatton Adventure World for their Enchanted Christmas Kingdom event. As well as taking Georgie & Lydia, we took along their friend Liliy to enjoy the fun. It was a great day out, and we were there from the opening at 10am to almost 4pm – there is plenty to see & do to keep kids of all ages amused all day, with a packed festive entertainment programme.
Our day at Wonderful World of Trains & Planes
A few weeks ago we visited Wonderful World of Trains & Planes, a fairly new attraction that can be found in Birmingham city centre. It took us just a few minutes walk from the Snow Hill car park which is a favourite of ours, as it is reasonably priced at weekends.
