Georgie & Roo – My Sunday Photo

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

It’s been a bit of a slow week in our house; Georgie, Lydia & I all had a stomach bug at the start of the week, and Georgie’s lingering cough is keeping everyone awake more than normal at nighttime. I’ve been working a bit, but mostly having to spend my days and evenings entertaining or looking after the girls, who have definitely needed more cuddles, more calpol, and more time than usual this week, thanks to those not-so-lovely winter bugs.

Georgie had three days off pre-school at the start of the week and these photos are from one of those days. My two girls and their softie cat who lets Georgie treat him like a soft toy, just chilling out and relaxing – with bags under their eyes and energy levels hitting rock bottom.

It was really hard just choosing one photo, so here’s a few more for your money!

My Sunday Photo – Eyes

I love this photo of Georgie, and it shows how much difference about 30 seconds can make. When you compare it to the photo I chose for this weeks #theouttakes linky, it really highlights how important capturing the right moment is, especially when photographing children who so often seem to be in motion with quickly changing facial expressions as well as the larger movements.

Our little Puzzler

I adore jigsaw puzzles and, to be honest, am really quite good at them – people always comment on it if they see me doing one. Dad was having a conversation with Georgie recently and informed her that I am a “Puzzler” which apparently means a “person who is very good at doing jigsaw puzzles!” …

Birthday preparations

Lydia’s first birthday tomorrow, and I have been planning a quiet celebration here in Cornwall. James has been carefully saving a few precious days of holiday and so he has managed to book tomorrow & Friday off work, and is travelling down here after work tonight! I’m so pleased, as I would have been very …

My Sunday Photo – Slipper flipping!

I posted recently about Georgie’s burgeoning interest in taking photos, and so it’s no real surprise that she is already taking over a My Sunday Photo post! This photo was taken by Georgie yesterday morning, as she watched and laughed at Grandad being silly – Dad was flipping his slipper up and catching it, before putting it back on and repeating the trick.

Dad slipper flipping

I think it’s quite a good photo, complete with motion blur on the flipping foot, and the flying slipper at the top of the shot!

The timing was probably quite accidental, but the framing of her Grandad was very deliberate; Dad and I were teaching Georgie how to hold the camera so she could see the screen and press the shutter button at the same time, while carrying it around. She was concentrating very hard on pointing the camera in the right direction before pressing the button!

In the meantime, Lydia was fascinated by Grandad’s slipper antics…

My Sunday Photo – Glasses

Lego Glasses

We went to Specsavers this week to pick up my new glasses, and so that Dad could choose and buy a new spare pair for himself. Georgie has now been into this Specsavers three or four times, and is starting to feel quite at home, especially as all the assistants indulge her antics and smile fondly at her as she wanders about.

Georgie really enjoys trying on the various kids glasses, and was running from where I was standing by the stand of frames, to where her Grandad was around the corner organising the purchase of his new glasses, in order to show off each pair of frames. All the staff thought she was hilarious and very cute – she definitely has a face for glasses as every pair she tried on suited her quite nicely, even the most ridiculous pairs.

After wearing the frames, Georgie informed me that they needed washing… the stickers on the lenses were obscuring her view through them!

Just in case you’re interested, here are my new glasses. They are for using my laptop, and other close up work like crochet, etc. The prescription is pathetic as my vision isn’t far off perfect, but they should help when I’m tired and my eyes are feeling strained. Hopefully this will help with my headaches, which although not nearly as bad as they used to be, are still quite bad when I am stressed or tired.
