Review: popchips

popchips claim that these “chips” (aka crisps) taste better than baked crisps (aka cardboard) whilst still being a healthier option than fried crisps, and I have to say.. I agree. They are a little thicker than regular crisps and remind me of squished rice crispies, only made of potatoes instead of rice!

Review: Raa Raa the Noisy Lion – Huffty’s Train

Georgie adores Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, so when we were sent Huffty & his train to review she was over the moon. She got so excited when she saw me unpack the delivery box to reveal a box covered in her favourite characters, and was very impatient while I extracted the toy from it’s packaging!

Review: Up and Down by Oliver Jeffers

Georgie is just starting to really enjoy picture books (as opposed to trying to eat them), and loves to sit on my lap and look at the pictures while I read books to her. Even though most of the picture books that we have, including this one, are too difficult for her to understand, she really loves to sit and look through any that have fantastic illustrations that are colourful and fun.

Rating: (4/5 stars)

Review: Georgie has started to really enjoy bath time recently, and has a particular love of bath books. A girl after my own heart, she has started to really love investigating all of the books we offer her, whether they are bath ones or otherwise, and she is a big fan of turning the pages for us. In fact, we often go through a book a little too quickly because she is so eager to turn the page!

However, I have found it difficult to indulge her love of “reading” in the bath as bath books seem to be a slightly forgotten market. They are often boring too look at or made from low quality materials, and it is hard to find (and afford) decent ones. We have a well-read copy of Tilly the Turtle which is her favourite so far out of the few we have found, and so we were interested to see if the Tiny Tatty Teddy bath time book would measure up to the high expectations Tilly seems to have set in Georgie’s little world.

Review: Sweetcorn Bites

Ad disclosure: This product was sent to me free of charge by Barfoots to be reviewed. However, as per my PR info disclaimer, this review is my unbiased honest opinion of the product.

Product: Sweetcorn Bites

Price: £2.49 (available from Ocado and selected stores at Tesco, Waitrose and Co-op) – Ocado currently have them on 2 packs for £3 until 10/03/12!

Manufacturer’s Description: Lovingly made on a working farm in Sussex, Sweetcorn Bites are the perfect healthy snack. Packed with goodness, they’re great for all sorts of occasions from kids’ teatime treats to serious side dishes and more.

Harvested in the sunshine for a delicious taste of summer, these fresh little niblets are full of good stuff. Completely natural and with nothing artificial added, they’re a brilliant source of nutrition, containing carotenoids, vitamins A, B3 and C, plus Folic Acid, fibre, carbohydrates, sugars and protein for energy.

Rating: (4/5 stars)

Review: I am an unashamed sweetcorn addict, and Georgie is showing signs of following in my footsteps in this matter.. mind you, she is also following in her Daddy’s footsteps and becoming a cheese addict – she just loves food it seems! So far, Georgie has just been eating sweetcorn from a tin or frozen so I was interested to see how she would react to being presented with it still on the cob, albeit in adorably small portions.

As we are following the baby led weaning method I am always on the lookout for new finger foods for Georgie to try – as I have said before we are trying to avoid her developing fussy eating habits if possible, by throwing a range of flavours and textures at her instead of it being all the same all the time.

Review: Organix Goodies – Mini Cheese Crackers

Ad disclosure: This product was sent to me free of charge by Organix to be reviewed. However, as per my PR info disclaimer, this review is my unbiased honest opinion of the product.

Product: Organix Goodies – Mini Cheese Crackers

Price: £1.99

Age Range: 12 months +

Manufacturer’s Description: Our tasty organic cheese crackers are a great savoury snack – made with real organic cheese, they are yummy on their own or scrumptious with a dip. And of course they come with our No Junk Promise, which means they only contain simple, organic ingredients and absolutely zero junk! Each box contains 4 handy bags for little hands. They are available to buy at our online shop, Waitrose and Boots stores and coming to Asda in March.

Rating: (4/5 stars)

Review: We are big fans of the Organix finger food range in this house, which Georgie has been munching her way through for the last few months, and when we discovered there was a new cheesy crackers product coming out in their Goodies range we were definitely interested – Georgiana is really into her food and loves finger food most of all. She isn’t keen on having baby food from jars, or home made purees, so the baby led weaning method really works for us. She is excellent at picking up food, biting, chewing & swallowing so we don’t worry at all about her trying anything and everything at least once!

Georgie in the Trunki ToyBox

Review: We bought the Trunki ToyBox last weekend after Georgie started chewing & just generally destroying the boxes we were using to keep toys in downstairs, and so far it has been a great success.

In our house we are trying to keep our living room a relatively baby free zone once Georgie has gone to bed. If I have the energy to tidy up, her toys are collected up and popped into a box for the night, and the colourful material on the floor is pulled up & folded, revealing our “grown up” rug underneath. Bigger toys like her Galt dino and her Vtech walker are thrown into the travel cot which is tucked away in the back corner of the room.. and then we can relax in an adult environment for a bit before falling into bed. We usually use this “grown up time” to watch some TV… or play games on the Playstation!

Review: As promised by the manufacturer this play tent was easy to construct and could easily be done by one person – in fact Georgie and I cuddled on the chair in the nursery while we watched my husband do the labour! We were impressed by the quality of the materials – it is made from solid wood poles connected with strong plastic connectors which all slot together to make a strong frame for the tent.

Review: Galt Activity Dino

My sister gave us a Galt Activity Dino* when Georgie was born, and it came very highly recommended by her daughter Izzy, who is about 8 months older than her little cousin Georgie!
